I'm actually between 3 and 4 stars on this. I bought the book because of Purnachandra's (Chandoo's) involvement with it. I'm not sure what his level of contribution was, but as for the book itself, there's some good info on dashboard overall concepts. There are also some interesting takes on Excel functions which I wasn't aware of. I disagree with a couple of the author's approaches, but he does tell you upfront that you may or may not agree with him on those points.The cons: 1, A dashboard book with no color?? This was a disappointment, considering that color is an integral part of many dashboards in how they convey information. 2, The typos and grammar mistakes. Not a big deal to many people, but it just catches my eye whenever I run across them and it detracts from the material. It makes it feel like they were so rushed to get the book out that they couldn't bother with proof-reading.Overall, a decent addition to my Excel library, will be used for occasional reference.

No color - no worries. I don't care. Many of the other concerns you see, I am not worried about. My biggest thing is about the content.This book offers extensive advise - some of which contrary to mainstream best practices - of how to use Excel. This is a good bridge between Walkenbach and Stephen/Bullen/Bovey.I will disclaim some of the other reviews I noticed. First, the color complaint is a non-issue. Every graphics card, operating system, and whatever other variables will render the colors their certain way. There is no point of printing the colors - that's just a waste of money. If you are arguing for the color delivery of the particular print copy of this book, you obviously missed the point.That said, I will say that I downloaded the examples listed in this book, and there are errors all over the place where the code breaks, does not calculate correctly, or all over the place in its entirety. There have been numerous examples, which I downloaded from the suggested page, where the code simply breaks or does not work without significant modification. Really, my 3-star rating has to do with the low level of effort that was put into creating these examples, and testing them in a sufficient fashion..The author makes a big stink about current "best practices" on how to create code. But when it comes to actually creating code, best I can say is the author should have used some of those best practices. Big fail on publishing error-prone code, while advocating fewer checks of errors.

Printing & Paper quality of the book for the hefty price is very poor. Reading Graphs and charts is extremely difficult. The material could be good if I was able to read and follow it. What good is a book which material cant be read & understood.

Hard copy (paperback) is not in color! Bad decision Jordan and Chandoo. You guys have WAY too much talent to make this kind of blunder. You repeatedly reference the impact of color throughout your text, yet it falls on gray-scale images, leaving the reader wondering what the message really is. Fortunately I was able to grab an inexpensive pdf which is colorized.

So I stink at visualization and taking neuroanatomy has been a lesson in humility. I've tried websites and at least four other books to help my brain do a little better because I pretty much expect A's of myself. This book was the first one to REALLY make things stick and simple enough that I could build on. I showed it to a classmate and she loved it enough to buy a copy for herself. It's not going to fill in all the gory details, but this will get you a great start and break it down into terms easy enough for a layperson.

One of the most helpful tools for medical students during neuroscience modules. The DVD that comes with it has an amazing program that maps all the tracts, brain areas and lesions. You can learn and test yourself pretty easily. Highly recommended.

Was studying for my SCRN exam and struggling with the anatomy part. This book saved me! I read the whole thing in a day and felt like I FINALLY understood everything!

This is the granddaddy of the MRS books, written by the series originator, Dr. Goldberg. I got the earliest edition of this book in 1974, and learned from his explanations and the drawings. Now I'm back in college in the new century, and here he is still, and with an interactive CD to boot. Dr. Goldberg, thank you for your clarifying explanations and your influence on my career!

I bought my First Clinical Neuroanatomy MRS when I was in med school. I lost my copy when I was moving so I bought a new copy. 2nd year of residency i still proudly display it on my book shelf. P.S this review is biased because I love the MRS series.

l learned Neuroanatomy with this book and anytime I feel like I need to brush up on the basics, I re-read this book and it's great. It's a fun read and makes learning neuroanatomy way more fun and accessible than your textbook. Haven't used the interactive CD because their are apps with the same tools, but what a great addition.

A great an useful tool for any medical student. I use this for my USMLE step 1 review, and highly recommend. As with other books in the "made ridiculously simple" series, this book has just enough information to help you understand the material, but not too much, Where he becomes unnecessary for USMLE.

This book tells the story of a Dutch boy who grew up during the 1950s in post-war Borneo, where he had frequent encounters with an airplane, the Douglas DC-3, aka the C-47 Skytrain or Dakota of World War II fame. For a young boy living in a remote jungle community, the aircraft reached the proportions of a romantic icon, as the essential lifeline to a bigger world for him, the beginning of a special bond.

In 1957 his family left the island, and all its residual wreckage of World War II, and he attended college in The Hague. After graduation he started a career as a corporate executive, and met the aircraft again during business trips to the Americas. His childhood passion for the Dakota flared up anew, and the fascination pulled like a magnet. As if predestined, or maybe just looking for an alibi to come closer, he began a business to salvage and convert Dakota parts, which meant first of all finding them.

As the demand for these war relic parts and cockpits soared, he began to travel the world to track down surplus, crashed or derelict Dakotas. He ventured deeper and deeper into remote mountains, jungles, savannas and the seas where the planes are found, usually as ghostly wrecks but sometimes still in full commercial operation. In hunting the mythical Dakota he often encountered intimidating or dicey situations in countries plagued by wars or revolts, others by arms and narcotics trafficking, warlords and con men.

This book describes his multiple expeditions in search of the remains of the Dakota legend. It takes the reader to some of the remotest spots in the world, but once there one is often greeted by the comfort of what was once the West’s apex in transportation―however now haunted by the courageous airmen of the past.

Hans Wiesman takes us on an intercontinental crusade, country to country, island to island; and it’s fair to say his story could count as one of those likeable books you can pick up and put down as and when. By its very nature the story is episodic but do not take this as a criticism. The writing is assured and well paced and you can feel the enthusiasm of the author at the turn of every page. The photography is well captioned and, of course, the pix are all fascinating. Just about everyone has seen those internet snaps of Dakotas used by scuba divers and all this stuff and more is included in the author’s story. His passion is beyond doubt and his knowledge and experience in the field of seeking out aircraft could well be unrivalled. His contacts book must be huge and I presume he has to get people in to help write all his Christmas cards for him. The book finds a fitting conclusion with our man Hans helping to save the DC-3 now on display at the Merville Battery in Normandy. He gets the chance to mix Dakotas with his passion for Harleys and you cannot help but come away with the idea that this is pretty cool. In fact, if I needed to find the briefest of reviews for this book, then “pretty cool” would do it. I suspect the author would be satisfied with that if he ever finds time to slow down. About the Author
Dutchman Hans Wiesman grew up in post colonial Borneo where his father worked as an engineer for Shell Oil. Growing up in the jungle, Hans was bitten by the Dakota bug at a young age, as the leftover cargo planes from WWII were the only connection to an outside world he had ever seen. 35 years later, while working as an advertising executive, Hans ran into a Dakota during a photo shoot in South America and was immediately mesmerized again. He decided to turn his passion into a full time job and has since been scouring the most remote regions of the planet on a quest to find the last forgotten Dakotas in the world
